Meet Tatiana
From understanding how people see, to making them feel seen
Hello, Bonjour!
As a therapist, I have had the privilege of working with older adults going through life transitions, health issues, trauma and loss. While at Crisis Support Services of Alameda County, I helped community members experiencing suicidality and other crises. My experience also includes working with children and adolescents. As a school counselor, I have provided support to pre-schoolers, elementary, middle and high schoolers at Emeryville Center for Community Life, at the École Bilingue (Berkeley), and Lycée Français de San Francisco (Sausalito campus), in addition to my private practice work (Kensington)
On a personal level:
Born and raised in France, I moved to the United States for my graduate studies. I first worked at Harvard Medical School, and then moved further west to pursue a PhD in vision science at UC Berkeley. After a decade in the biotechnology/ophthalmology industry, I decided to go back to school and joined the MFT program at the Wright Institute in Berkeley. Thanks to these combined studies, I have discovered a profound alignment between who I am and what I do.
Therapeutic
Stance
Warmth, depth and growth
Each session is tailored to meet your unique needs and goals. I pull from diverse theories and techniques including, but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), psychodynamics, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, play therapy, solution-focused therapy, and existential and humanistic approaches. By fostering a collaborative and trusting therapeutic relationship, I aim to create a space where you feel at ease to explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors with curiosity and kindness.
I have been told that my style is warm and nurturing. Laughing and smiling in session are fine, so is crying. My approach is attachment-based and fundamentally client-centered. I listen, I reflect what I hear, trusting it will help you discover and appreciate the person you are deep inside.
Areas of focus
My current areas of focus are anxiety, ADHD, depression, relationship issues, body image issues, phobia and exposure therapy, as well as life transitions (growing families, switching schools, losing/starting a job, children leaving home, retirement, moving, etc.), and immigrant adaptation stress
